The annual Ride of Silence will remember cyclists killed or injured in Marin. Marin Ride of Silence will honor those whose lives have been taken while riding a bicycle. Two people have already been killed in 2022 while riding, a tragic figure after several years without a cycling fatality.
A Ride of Silence will take place Saturday, May 21, at 10:30 a.m., cycling from Piper Park in Larkspur to downtown San Anselmo and back.
The ride will stop briefly in downtown San Anselmo for a short ceremony. We’ll read the names of cyclists known to have been killed or severely injured on Marin County roads. After returning to Piper Park, there will be an informal BYO picnic, weather permitting.
The Ride of Silence is both a remembrance and a call to drivers and policy makers to do more to make cycling safe. The Marin Ride of Silence supports Vision Zero https://visionzeronetwork.org/ which is not yet official policy anywhere in Marin County.
