Learn how to report road harassment and threats against cyclists in Marin. Follow these steps to ensure incidents are documented and prosecuted effectively.
Fighting Road Harassment: How to Take Action
MCBC works with the Marin County District Attorney (DA) and California Highway Patrol (CHP) to ensure cyclists have a clear process to report and prosecute road harassment effectively.
To hold motorists accountable, call 911 immediately after an incident, then follow up with a written police report.
Tip: Video footage is crucial in determining whether a case can be prosecuted. Forward and backward-facing cameras mounted on your helmet or bike lights provide critical evidence for law enforcement.
After calling 911 and filing a report with CHP, please share the details with MCBC. Your reports help us advocate for safer roads and stronger legal protections for cyclists.
