MatChING GIFTS: Double Your Impact
Did you know many companies offer a matching gift program to encourage philanthropy among their employees? And that some companies will even match to spouses and retirees?
By simply completing a matching gift form, you may be able to double, or even triple, the impact of your gift! Contributions of any amount help us make bicycling in Marin safe, fun, and accessible. If you volunteer with MCBC, your employer may also provide us with a grant as a way to recognize your support.
Steps to Get Your Donation Matched
Check Eligibility: Start by checking if your company offers a matching gift program. You can typically find this information on your company’s intranet or by asking your HR department.
Make Your Donation: Your donation to MCBC can be made here. Be sure to keep your receipt or confirmation of your donation.
Submit a Matching Gift Request: Fill out the necessary forms to request a matching gift. This could be a paper form or an online submission, depending on your company’s procedures. You might need to provide details such as the donation amount, date, and MCBC information.
Follow Up: Once you’ve submitted your request, follow up with both your company and Liz@Marinbike.org to ensure your matching gift is processed. This step will make sure your donation is matched in a timely manner.
Tips for Success Know the Deadlines:
- Some companies have specific deadlines for matching gift requests, so make sure to submit your request promptly.
- Understand the Limits: Be aware of any minimum or maximum donation amounts your company will match.
