This summer has been full of momentum and meaningful experiences for Cory’s Ride, our youth empowerment program. Read the Cory’s Ride Summer 2025 Update to see how Marin students are using bikes to build confidence, independence, and community connections.
In June, we wrapped up a powerful partnership with the Marin County Foster Care Association. After completing a series of bike safety and education classes, each student earned their own bicycle, helmet, and gear. We loved seeing them roll into summer ready to ride confidently and safely!
Cory’s Ride Goes Off-Road!
We recently concluded our Cory’s Ride summer class with Bridge the Gap’s Explore and Soar camp, serving students in the Marin City/Sausalito area. Over several weeks, this group dove into bicycling through hands-on mechanics, route planning, and local adventures. The highlight? A ride through the Marin Headlands, where students put their newly acquired skills to use exploring Rodeo Beach and the Miwok Trail.

For many, the bike became more than a mode of transportation. It was a vehicle for independence, confidence, and a growing curiosity about the world around them. By navigating real terrain and making decisions along the way, students experienced the power of movement and discovery on their own terms.
Looking Forward
There’s more on the horizon! On Saturday, September 27, we’re hosting our 5th annual Bike Fest, where we donate refurbished bikes and new helmets to kids and families across Marin. Have a bike collecting dust? Give it a second life, and help open a world of possibility for someone in our community. We’re accepting gently used bikes now and can even arrange pickup. Please reach out to cooper@marinbike.org by September 20 to contribute.
These programs reflect our vision of a Marin where all youth—regardless of zip code—have the tools and confidence to travel safely and independently by bike. By partnering with trusted community organizations, Cory’s Ride continues to break down barriers to mobility and open new pathways for leadership, health, and fun.
That’s it for the Cory’s Ride Summer 2025 Update! Stay tuned for more student stories and ways to support this inspiring work in the months ahead!
