Here’s How You Can Help Open Alto Tunnel

Spring is here, which means it’s time to get out into the community and help build momentum to reopen the Alto Tunnel!

Here’s a quick refresher: Alto Tunnel is a long-shuttered railway tunnel that would directly connect bike paths in Mill Valley and Corte Madera. Reopening it would eliminate the need to climb the steep, 30-story Camino Alto/Horse Hill route and create a safer, more accessible connection for everyone. MCBC and Open Alto Tunnel have been working for years to make this vision a reality. (Click here to learn more.)

Decision makers at the county have been convinced by the do-nothing talking points of a few wealthy NIMBYs; they’re a small but vocal group opposed to the project. We need to show them that far more people support reopening the Alto Tunnel, and that this project has broad, community-wide backing.

That’s where you come in. Even a couple of hours volunteering at an event can make a real difference in building awareness and support.
