news Join MCBC’s Course Marshal Squad at the Jensie

With cyclist safety at the forefront of MCBC’s mission, we are proud to be the “eyes and ears” of this year’s Jensie Gran Fondo of Marin. MCBC volunteers will serve a unique role as course marshals, which includes keeping all riders on course, reminding riders of the rules of the road and staying in close communications with the ride organizers. MCBC volunteers will be part of the Jensie support team, which includes SAG vehicles on course along with ride leaders, MARS radio support and CHP and mechanic support.

Go here if you’d like to support MCBC’s mission and help with course marshal duties for this year’s Jensie Gran Fondo of Marin. Haven’t been a course marshal before? Don’t worry! We’ll provide instructions, training and necessary equipment.

As a Jensie Gran Fondo of Marin volunteer, you’ll of course be showered with thanks from the riders – plus you’ll receive these special perks:

  • Invitation to a volunteer-only pizza party, hosted by Jens himself (typically the Monday night after the event)
  • Custom Jensie Gran Fondo of Marin hat
  • MCBC custom volunteer shirt
  • Complimentary lunch. Where shift times allow, you are invited to join us in the Finisher’s Village to enjoy live music and a cold beverage to celebrate the day (volunteers over 21, will receive a ticket to enjoy a complimentary Lagunitas brew + free parking pass)

2016 Volunteer team enjoys a special evening with the man himself: Jens Voigt! Be part of this year’s crew – sign up now!
