On September 18, the Marin Water Watershed Committee outlined its plan to update the Roads and Trails Management Plan (RTMP) – with bike-legal trails and a new trail classification officially on the table. This effort was initiated by the Board after the lawsuit that derailed the pilot program. Watch the meeting here.
We know – it feels like we’ve been here before. For decades, bike access in the Mt. Tam watershed has been debated, delayed, and derailed. But this is different: the RTMP update is our best chance to secure permanent bike-legal trails in MMWD policy.
The Board has given staff direction, but they need to hear strong support from the community. We’ve rallied before, and we need to rally again.
Key Date – Don’t Miss This
Nov 9–10: Community Open House & Workshop @ Sky Oaks HQ
This is the moment to show up, speak up, and push for:
Equitable trail access
Smart adoption of existing social trails
Common-sense road-to-trail conversions
It’s taken decades to get here. Let’s not miss this chance.
