Effective April 4 through May 11, 2016 East Sir Francis Drake Detour Affects Larkspur Ferry-Goers

Heading to the GG Ferry in Larkspur? Prepare for a detour if you use the south side of East Sir Francis Drake!

We received late notice that Starting Monday, April 4 and continuing for about 5 weeks, the sidewalk on the south side of East Sir Francis Drake Blvd between the Larkspur Ferry Terminal and the new pedestrian bridge will be closed. A pedestrian/bicyclist detour will be in place which may require ferry customers to allow extra time to access the terminal.

According to the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District (GGBHTD), this closure is the final phase of the Central Marin Ferry Connection project and involves the reconstruction and improvement of the portion of the sidewalk between terminal and the pedestrian bridge.

We have  been told there will be an official opening AFTER the sidewalk construction has been completed.  Look for announcements of that here or via the MCBC Facebook or twitter feeds.
