news Photos from National Trails Day MCBC Volunteer Efforts

Over 100 volunteers joined us on Saturday, June 4 for the 2016 National Trails Day in Marin.  We hosted 35 energetic volunteers on the Bullfrog Trail restoration project.

Working on this fun connecting trail in the MMWD watershed district, we tightened up boardwalk planks, cut back poison oak and other vegetation that was blocking trail safety signs and re-graded approximately 1,000 feet of trail to improve drainage.

Another crew of bicyclists worked their way up 680 Trail which connects from Lucas Valley Road to Big Rock Ridge, including many enthusiastic members of the Forest Knolls Freewheelers. Here they did treadwork to make the trail safer for all users of this popular route.

Between wrangling equipment and gear, we snapped a few photos on the day! Thanks to all who showed up and helped on these projects!
