news ‘Give Bikes A Chance’ Launches in Novato Oct. 7, San Rafael Oct. 14

Update, 10/10: We’re sorry to announce that the 10/14 event in San Rafael has been postponed. Please stay tuned for an event in Spring ’19.

MCBC is pleased to launch Give Bikes A Chance, a County-funded initiative aimed at giving those less confident on bikes the encouragement, support, education, and resources needed to ride more regularly. Give Bikes A Chance will launch in Novato and San Rafael in 2018/19, with potential to expand to more cities in 2019/20.


Sunday, October 7 – Sports Basement Novato – Free to Register

Sunday, October 14 – Mike’s Bikes San Rafael – Free to Register

Come discover (or rediscover) the joy of bicycling! Whether your bike needs a tune-up, you need to brush up on riding skills, or you feel unsure about local bike routes, we’ve got you covered!

These events will include something for all ages and skill levels. Participants will have several activities to choose from, highlighted by scavenger hunts by bike…for prizes!

WHO: People of all ages and skill levels

WHAT:

  • Get a free safety check and adjustments by a professional mechanic, courtesy of Sports Basement / Mike’s Bikes

  • Improve your bike handling and street skills with personalized instruction from a League of American Bicyclists’ certified instructor

  • Practice your handling on a skills course

  • Learn local bike routes, practice your street skills, and earn prizes on a bike scavenger hunt*

…all FREE!
