Action Alert Last Chance to Speak Up for CA Trail & Bike/Ped Funding Opportunities
Update: This is your last chance to speak up for these funding opportunities! If you haven’t already done so, please take a minute to send a note to our state legislators today.
Two bills are now moving through state legislature that could make your two-wheeled experience even better for years to come, no matter which of Marin’s trails, roads or pathways you ride.
MCBC is teaming up with Rails-to-Trails Conservancy to ask our state legislators to increase funding for trail, road, and pathway improvements through Senate Bill 5 (SB5), Assembly Bill 18 (AB18), and Senate Bill 595 (SB595). We need you to write your state legislators today to support our efforts.

SB5 and AB18 are competing park bond bills that would increase investments in our parks, trails, and wildlife habitat. Regardless of which one is passed, we want to ensure that $45m will be dedicated to trails.
SB595 would allow Bay Area voters to consider a regional bridge toll increase. Before it moves to the ballot, however, we are working hard to ensure that a sizable chunk will go to walking and bicycling improvements that provide better access to transit and complete gaps in the Bay Trail. With your help, we hope to see funding for walking and bicycling improvements double from $150m to $300m.
