Bike access in the Mt. Tam watershed has been debated for decades – but the newly underway update to the Roads & Trails Management Plan (RTMP) update is our best chance yet to secure permanent bike-legal trails in MMWD policy.
Mark your calendars
Here is the schedule for next steps:
Site visits with Marin Water staff are planned for January 31, Feb. 27 and March 13. Showing up and staying engaged remains critical as this process continues and decisions that shape the future of access in the watershed take form.
Next Steps:
January – March 2026 – Series of Community Watershed Site Visits
Join Marin Water staff for a series of guided community site walks to explore areas of the Mt. Tamalpais Watershed that are central to the Roads and Trails Management Plan (RTMP) update process. These walks will provide an opportunity to see firsthand where the plan is focused, hear about current conditions and management considerations, and share observations. Attendees should be prepared for moderate walking on varied terrain. Â
Meet up location: Lagunitas Overflow Parking Area near Sky Oaks Road and Filter Plant Road (Sky Oaks Rd & Filter Plant Rd., California 94930)
