MCBC Sponsor Focus Bank of Marin

Bank of Marin is proud to sponsor the efforts of the Marin County Bicycle Coalition and their Trail Steward Program. As a community bank headquartered in Novato, the Bank is committed to supporting programs that promote cyclist safety and alternative means of transportation in Marin.

With many employees who are active cyclists, the Bank currently supports several fundraising rides across the markets it serves, including the Cycle for Sight in Napa. The Bank is a multi-year sponsor of this event and provides financial contributions, volunteers, and participants. The event raises funds for local nonprofit organizations including the Enchanted Hill Camp for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Napa.

Bank of Marin is also a founding and ongoing sponsor of the Sonoma County Backroads Challenge hosted by the Rotary Club of Petaluma Sunrise. The Backroads Challenge offers participants the choice of three wine-country cycling routes along breathtaking roads in Sonoma. The event raises money for many nonprofit organizations in Sonoma County.

Two of the most avid cyclists at Bank of Marin are Russ Colombo, President & CEO, and Peter Pelham, Executive Vice President, Retail Banking. Through Russ’s work as Chair of the Citizens Oversight Committee for SMART and Peter’s role as Chair of the TAM Oversight Committee, they are helping facilitate the building of new bike paths to improve safety for commuters and community residents.

“We love cycling as a sport and as a way of enjoying time with friends and family. As traffic continues to increase throughout Marin County, we are committed to helping create safe routes for commuting by bike, riding to school, or enjoying a beautiful back road. We applaud the efforts of the Marin County Bicycle Coalition for all that they have done, and will continue to do, to create a safe, enjoyable environment for cyclists here in Marin.”
