Volunteers make Bike to Work Day a fun, empowering celebration of the happiest, healthiest, and most sustainable form of transportation. Whether you’re able to stuff goodie bags, hang posters, or join us at Energizer Stations to cheer on our bike commuting heroes, we need your smiling face!
With all the rain that’s fallen in Marin, it’s sometimes hard to imagine pedaling to work, school, etc. But sure enough, dedicated bike commuters have been out there in all types of weather, choosing pedal power over cars and inspiring all of us through their commitment to riding.
Thousands of riders rolled past a dozen Energizer Stations on Thursday, May 10, celebrating Bike to Work Day throughout the North Bay! Our Super Energizer Station on the Mill Valley Bike Path saw one its highest counts ever, with riders grabbing a snack and enjoying the encouragement from our amazing MCBC volunteers and sponsors!
We’re only halfway through Bike Month and everyone seems to be on a bicycle! Hundreds of interested and curious riders checked out new models of eBikes at Super Bicycle 2018 last weekend in Larkspur. While earlier in the week our enthusiastic MCBC volunteers cheered everyone on during Bike to Work Day!

Most active bicycle riders know that May is Bike Month – a perfect time to use the longer hours of daylight and moderate weather for more rides! But, each of us likely knows someone at work who has a bike gathering a little too much dust in the garage. It’s time to help them get out on two wheels for Bike to Work Day!
To celebrate Bike to Work Week, the City of San Rafael will be building a temporary two-way protected bike lane on Tamalpais Avenue between 3rd Street and Mission Avenue. The temporary bikeway is expected to be installed in time for morning commutes on Monday, May 7 and will be in place through Friday, May 11 – may longer if it proves popular!
