Juan Alvarez is an avid cyclist, both on and off road. He’s excited about what he sees as an expanding number of latinos on bikes.

Phil Mooney is an active member of the Bay Area cycling community. As a former professional road racer, Phil has ridden roads and trails all over the world. Although no longer racing, he is still an avid cyclist and stays involved in the racing community as the team manager of the men’s Voler Factory Team (formerly known as Marc Pro – Strava and h24cycling) and the women’s Voler Factory Gravel Team. He also serves as a member of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee for the City of San Rafael. Outside of cycling, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters, and thinking about rocks with his job in the Department of Geology at Sonoma State University.

As always, we had a blast greeting hundreds of energetic bike commuters on Bike to Work Day! Our amazing crew of staff, volunteers, and Bike to Work Day sponsors made sure everyone rolling by our Energizer Stations knew what day it was, sending people on their way with breakfast, goodies, and smiles.
Bike to Work Day is our favorite celebration of bicycling because it brings us together with commuters, volunteers, sponsors, and agency partners. No Bike to Work Day would be complete without a visit to one, two, or even three Bike to Work Day Energizer Stations! We’re excited to announce our 2019 station lineup. Be sure to visit the Energizer Super Stations for breakfast and goodie bags!
With Bike Month and Bike to Work Day quickly approaching, it’s time to once again recognize a bike-commuting superhero who makes everyday Bike to Work Day. As always, it was very difficult for us to narrow the many deserving nominees down to one. In the end, it was Brian Lehman’s co-workers at the California Film Institute who–unbeknownst to Brian–nominated him and sold us on his dedication to bicycling.
