Plans for the 157-acre parcel in the heart of the San Geronimo Valley include a safe route for school children between Woodacre and Lagunitas School, restoration of the land, enhanced fire safety and better connectivity between four existing open space preserves – Roy’s Redwoods, French Ranch, Maurice Thorner, and Giacomini. Additionally, the many miles of mostly flat pathways and trails make this a potential prime destination for families and people new to biking and outdoor recreational opportunities of all kinds.
Marin County has entered into a management agreement with the Trust For Public Land, giving bicyclists and pedestrians access to miles of paved pathways, bridges and a tunnel under a busy roadway at the San Geronimo Golf Course property west of Woodacre.
