Bike Month 2018 - Photos eBikes a Hit at Super Bicycle Weekend and MCBC Volunteers Rock Bike to Work Day

We’re only halfway through Bike Month and everyone seems to be on a bicycle! Hundreds of interested and curious riders checked out new models of eBikes at Super Bicycle 2018 last weekend in Larkspur. While earlier in the week our enthusiastic MCBC volunteers cheered everyone on during Bike to Work Day!

Super Bicycle 2018 – E-Bikes and Beer

Thanks to help from our amazing MCBC volunteers, Super Bicycle 2018 was a great success. With coffee and waffles starting the day, and good food and tasty beer supplied by Lagunitas Brewing Company, it was a special opportunity to hang out with other riders in a relaxed setting, while learning more about power-assist and utility options –  over 250 happy e-bike riders had a chance to test ride and experience the newest technology first-hand.

Hosted by The New Wheel at their Larkspur location near the East Sir Francis Drake Overpass, riders were able to drop right in to enjoy several informative presentations by local and national experts in the cycling community, including MCBC’s Executive Director Jim Elias. We hope to be back again next year to spread good cheer through beer and be part of the cycling future!

Thanks to Mark Kohr/New Wheel for the great photos!

Bike To Work Day 2018 – We Couldn’t Do It Without Our Volunteers!

With a great turnout of riders, our MCBC volunteers kept busy at Energizer Stations throughout Marin! Thanks to the help of up-at-dawn volunteers, Bike To Work Day 2018 was a great success. MCBC gained scores of new memberships, volunteers gave away what seemed like a million bagel bites, and everyone marveled at the turnout of both brand new and seasoned bike commuters alike. Thanks to all the people who turned up early for setup and outreach efforts – it really made the difference!

Executive Director Jim Elias spoke with the media early morning at the Golden Gate Bridge Vista Point energizer station, and awarded Marin’s Bike Commuter of the Year Matt Young with his certificate.

Volunteering with MCBC is a great way to get more involved in your cycling community. We rely on your help to share our mission of making cycling safe and fun in Marin County! We’d love to have you help out at some of our upcoming events!
