We asked Brendan to tell us a little more about himself and why he rides.

What kind of bicycle(s) do you ride?

I’m all in on E-bikes.  I now have three of them.  One for city/transportation, one for mountain biking and just bought another for road biking.

What do you like best about riding?

 Not waiting in traffic.

What do you like best about the benefits of riding your bike?

I can get outside, get exercise and get to where I want to go.  All at the same time.

What would you have liked someone to tell you when you started?

That there is always one more bike that you will want.

Where is your favorite place to ride your bike?

Up in North Lake Tahoe on the Tahoe Rim Trail network.

What is your favorite ride/route in Marin County?

Up Railroad, down Old Stage/Coast View, up Dias, down Miwok to Tennessee Valley, then out and back on Old Springs.

What part of riding would you most like to improve?

I’d like to see the continued improvement of bike technology and infrastructure to overcome the barriers that discourage people from using bikes for transportation, such as concerns about safety, difficulty, cost and convenience.

What is your vision of bicycling in the future?

I would love to see it surpass the automobile as the default mode for local transportation.

Welcome Brendan to the MCBC Board of Directors!
