Please join us for a special screening of the 24th Annual Bicycle Film Festival at the Lark Theater in Larkspur on Thursday, April 18, 2024. Presented by Cory’s Ride and the Marin County Bicycle Coalition, we’re excited to showcase some amazing films and share updates on our Cory’s Ride Program.
Founded in 2020 with a mission to reach out to youth who might not otherwise have access to bikes, Cory’s Ride is bringing the joy of bicycling to more young people in Marin.
Get your tickets and enjoy a fun evening of bicycle films in support of Cory’s Ride.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the 90-minute film festival program will begin at 7:00 p.m. showcasing inspiring and interesting bicycle films specially curated by the Bicycle Film Festival. You’ll also get to hear from our Cory’s Ride kids about their experiences.
If you are unable to attend this special event but would still like to support Cory’s Ride, click here to donate to Team Cory’s Ride. All funds raised as part of this event will be matched, up to $10,000!
With your support, our vision is to empower a community of youth to become bike enthusiasts. Youth who are willing to speak up for safer streets and other key advocacy to promote bike safety and access.
We look forward to seeing you at the Bicycle Film Festival at the Lark Theater on April 18!
Bicycle Film Festival (BFF) is coming to Marin County. BFF has an incredible history. It began in New York City in 2001 by Brendt Barbur after being hit by a bus while riding a bicycle. He turned his negative experience into a positive one. BFF has been celebrating bicycles through art, film, and music around the world in over 100 cities to an audience of one million people.
BFF Marin County presents an international selection of short films celebrating the bicycle in all its forms. A diverse curation of filmmaking styles: narratives, documentaries, animations, award-winning filmmakers, and emerging directors all share equal billing. BFF appeals to a wide audience from film connoisseurs to avid cyclists and everyone in between.
The curated collection of select short films will take you on a journey around the world. Here are the films:
All Bodies on Bikes – about a duo who aims to make cycling more inclusive, beyond just inviting people of all sizes to ride bikes, but by changing the entire idea of what it means to be a cyclist — not just on screens, but on trails and in people’s minds.
Trailblazer – about DeAngelo Washington who thought baseball was his ticket out of public housing, but when he suffered a life-changing injury, he discovered a sport
he never thought of – mountain biking.
Hot Tubes For Life – about the Hot Tubes Junior Development Cycling Team is the longest-running junior cycling program in North America.
The Trails Before Us – a story about 17-yr-old Nigel James and his friends preparing to host the first Enduro bike race in the Navajo Nation.
Mama Agata – stories about a group of migrant women from Southeast Amsterdam who meet in a gymnasium to learn how to cycle.
…And more!
