Biketoberfest Shakeout Rides

JOIN A BIKETOBERFEST 2023 SHAKEOUT RIDE

Join one of the road, gravel, or MTB morning group rides. Hydration and energy snacks are included, but there will not be on-course support. Group of 3 teenage boy Riders for Biketoberfest Shakeout

Team 31 Youth MTB Ride – hosted by pro Mountain Biker Kelsey Urban and MCBC – Register

Come ride on Mt. Tam with Team 31 pro mountain biker Kelsey Urban. Meet at the Marin Museum of Bicycling at 9 am. The ride is open to kids aged 12-18. Beginner and intermediate oriented but all experience levels are welcome. The loop will be about 7 miles with views of lakes, amidst the redwoods. Click here for more info.

Ride with a Ranger – hosted by Access4Bikes – Register

Join A4B for an intermediate trail ride with a Ranger and explore the breathtaking trails of Fairfax with our knowledgeable Ranger. This ride is perfect for trail enthusiasts and outdoor lovers. Whether you’re an intermediate or an experienced rider, our Ranger will guide you through the scenic landscapes and share fascinating stories about the local wildlife and history of the trails.

Women’s Ride for Beginners – hosted by Access4Bikes – Register

Join A4B for a women’s ride and head for the breathtaking scenery of the Mt Tam Watershed. Shaver Grade will form the backbone of our ride: steady, well-graded climbs rewarded by fun, winding descents through the redwood forest. We’ll stop often to regroup and ensure no rider is left behind. The ride is about 8 miles, including a quick tour around Lake Lagunitas, and back in time for Biketoberfest.

Family Biking – hosted by Marin County Bicycle Coalition & Safe Routes to Schools – Register

Family Biking at Biketoberfest 2023 is for families with kids learning to ride on the road and pathways. Families will learn to safely navigate their bikes with FUN activities including an optional neighborhood ride. A  bicycle skills course chalked out for kids to practice on at Ross Valley Charter School is followed by an optional family ride from Fairfax to San Anselmo that includes a scavenger hunt! Taught by Safe Routes to Schools instructors. Each rider must come with a good, working bicycle and helmet to participate. Learn more here.

Biketoberfest Shake Out Rides – hosted by Marin Cyclists – Register

Choose from FOUR different road rides hosted by Marin Cyclists to work up your thirst and appetite for Biketoberfest. Option 1 is a leisurely out and back to Samuel P Taylor Park (27 miles, 1,440 ft). For Option 2 (32 miles, 1,960 ft) ride a social-paced loop to Platform Bridge. Option 3 is a moderate-paced loop to Pt Reyes Station/Bear Valley (38 miles, 2,650 ft). And Option 4 is a brisk-paced loop with Marshall Wall (59 miles, 3,800 ft).
