1 – With all the other political hoopla happening, you may have missed this development in the US Senate – the Human-Powered Travel in Wilderness Areas Act would give local land managers the discretion to allow bicycle use in wilderness areas.

2 – Have to admit, this story brings out a bit of regional envy… but a 3,000 mile bike path is a pretty impressive project even if it’s on a different coast.

3 – Reboot the Commute – The New Wheel got a very nice writeup in the recent Pacific Sun, with few quotes from MCBC Event Director Tom Boss.

Marin Water Pilot Program Update

After months of confidential mediation with parties that oppose sharing trails with bikes, Marin Water staff has settled with the litigants and agreed to rescind the two previously approved pilots. A modified two year Class 1 E-bike pilot will be allowed to proceed. We are deeply disappointed in this development but will continue to work toward our trail sharing goals.
