news Cycling Detours for March 15, 2017

Three more bicycle things which crossed our desks this week.  No endorsement should be inferred or implied…

We just found them interesting and thought you might too.
Enjoy and ride safe!

1 –  Cycling catching on among NASCAR drivers, who suddenly find themselves the target of abuse.

2 – Stop-as-Yield option gets…uh…rolling. California Assembly members Jay Obernolte (R-Hesperia) and Phil Ting (D-San Francisco) introduced a measure this month which would allow bicyclists to treat stop signs as merely yield signs — proceeding with caution if conditions are safe.

3 – Sure, St. Patrick’s Day may get all the attention and parades, but if you are ready to celebrate spring and looking for a homegrown festival, don’t miss the Fairfax Brewfest on Saturday, March 25 – you can snag your ticket early!  Why is this a “Cycling Detour”?  Well, it also happens to kick off the 2017 MCBC Valet Bike Parking Season!  Ride your bike to the event and let our Elite MCBC Volunteer Bike Parking Squad secure your trusty steed.
