MCBC Trail Stewards Trail Days Return in December!
We are stoked to get back to building and maintaining trails! Following an almost two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, MCBC Trail Stewards are booking volunteer trail work days around the County. Join us on one of the following upcoming dates in December.
UPCOMING TRAIL DAYS
Saturday, December 18th – Camp Tamarancho in Fairfax
Help maintain the trails at Tamarancho. These trails are more popular than ever – new riders, more e-MTB’s, and just lots of use. The trails don’t maintain themselves so please consider doing your part. We have switchbacks to rebuild, site lines to brush, and winter drainage maintenance. MCBC Trail Stewards will head up the December 18th Trail Day. Join us!
WHEN: Saturday, December 18th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
WHERE: Camp Tamarancho Ranger Station at Top of Iron Springs Road, Fairfax
Check back on January 1st for new trail day dates!
Wear long pants, a long sleeved shirt and durable shoes (preferably boots with toe support) and bring a water bottle. If you have gloves, bring them. Eye wear too! Tools, snacks and lunch are provided. Eligible for community service hours.
Bill’s Trail is closed for winter and will reopen next spring when the weather permits. The annual trail closure is a condition of the project’s Environmental Impact Report to protect the trail tread and reduce the flow of sediment into the nearby creek. Gates will be closed at the top of the trail and at the Stairstep Falls junction. A stile is installed at the base of the trail at Devil’s Gulch to allow pedestrian access to Stairsteps Falls over the winter. That trail is closed to bikes and horses. Please respect the closure and plan your rides accordingly.
