Every rider agrees – there’s nothing like the enthusiastic support from our amazing MCBC Volunteers! We’re looking for volunteers at the two biggest Marin county cycling events this August – the Marin Century and MCBC Dirt Fondo.
Test your trail etiquette knowledge and learn how to tread lightly in our parks and open space preserves at Slow & Say Hello! trailhead outposts this summer through fall. Look for the tent on July 21 at Lake Lagunitas.

On Thursday, July 12, you’ll hear from a local rider who recently bike-packed the entire Bay Area Ridge Trail, and then on Saturday, July 14 join MCBC and others as we “Ride the Ridge” on a Dirt Fondo training loop.
Marin County Bicycle Coalition members are invited to shop at the Columbia Sportswear Company Employee Store from July 6th – July 29th! All current members will receive “employee pricing” during this time – typically 40-60% off most products.

We are often asked by mountain bikers what they can do to increase trail access. The #1 answer? Always slow down when passing others and – most importantly – really slow down! When riding, be an ambassador of our activity and promote our friendly nature.
On a day when riders will cover up to 45 miles, it’s up to our amazing MCBC volunteers to mark the route, lead and sweep to keep riders on the course, keep riders hydrated and enthusiastic at rest stations, and help make sure everyone has enough to eat and drink at the celebratory post-ride BBQ!
