Join us Saturday, November 11, 2023 for the Stafford Lake Rattler XC Race! Strike fast and pick the right tread to avoid a snakebite! Snake through new singletrack in the Stafford Lake hills!
The Race
The inaugural Stafford Lake Rattler XC Race is November 11, 2023. This is a wonderful venue with excellent trails and stunning scenery. It is also the former home of the NICA High School League State Championships. We have been given access to never before ridden race trails. We are confident this is one you won’t want to miss!
Registration is limited, so don’t delay. Early bird pricing through October 15th. Registration closes at 12 p.m. on Thursday, November 9th. Please note: there is no onsite registration.

Event Details
Location: Stafford Lake County Park, Novato, CA
Date: November 11, 2023
The Stafford Lake Rattler XC will be a traditional format MTB XC race with a course between 3.5 – 4 miles. Participants will complete multiple laps depending on registration class.
The course is mainly singletrack, with sections of fire road and double track. It utilizes the Bike Park and the hills to the south of the park that contain trails closed to public riding. The Rattler XC will use some previously used trails, along with new trails never ridden in previous events.

Classes/Categories
Middle School Class Boys: 6th/7th Grade, 8th Grade; Girls: 6th/7th Grade, 8th Grade (younger riders may register for Middle School).
Beginner Class Men: 18 and under, 19-39, 40+ ; Women: 18 and under, 19-39, 40+
Sport Class Men: 18 and under, 19-39, 40+ ; Women: 18 and under, 19-39, 40+
Expert / Pro Men: Open, 18 and under, 19-39, 40+ ; Women: Open, 18 and under, 19-39, 40+
Start Times
9 AM: Sport, Middle School, Beginner
11AM: Expert / Pro
Registration closes at 12 PM on Thursday, November 9th.
Course Preride / Restricted Trails
REMINDER: BIKES ARE ONLY ALLOWED AT THE BIKE PARK. BIKES ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE DISC GOLF COURSE. PLEASE RESPECT PARK RULES.
There will be a course preride opportunity on Friday, November 10.

Stafford Lake County Park
Stafford Lake County Park is located on Novato BLVD just west of Novato. The park consists of recreation and picnic areas along with access to shoreline and trails. Highlights are the Bike Park and Disc Golf Course. LEARN MORE HERE
Stafford Lake Bike Park
The 17 acre bike park site is located within Stafford Lake County Park in Novato. The full spectrum bike park will provide progressive opportunities and experiences for riders of all ages and skill levels- beginner through expert, to participate in positive, healthy, and active outdoor recreation.
