The Marin County Bicycle Coalition is proud to announce the 7th Annual MCBC Dirt Fondo, an all-day mountain bike ride on Saturday, August 18 in the birthplace of mountain biking. We encourage bicyclists of all skill levels to join us on one of the most spectacular and challenging off-road bicycle rides in the Bay Area!

The MCBC Dirt Fondo is limited to 300 riders and we’ve already sold over 100 tickets, the ride will sell out in advance of the event – register now to assure your place on the ride.

The 2018 Dirt Fondo starts in the Marin Headlands (Golden Gate National Recreation Area), just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Want to do it all? The 45-mile route takes cyclists on a journey that climbs and descends a number of ranges before an ascent to the top of Mt. Tamalpais. After stopping to take in the amazing views, riders will continue on a loop around the mountain before rolling back to the Headlands for a grand BBQ feast.

Challenges for All Skill Levels

If the full 45 seems a bit daunting, there will be turn-back options creating loops of 10, 20 and 32 miles. You’ll have all day to complete the ride, so pick a distance that fits your fitness and gives you the best challenge!

There is great support along your journey, including a number of strategically placed and well-stocked energizer stations, ride leaders and sweeps, radio communication and SAG support, and mechanics to help with minor repairs.

Kids and women are encouraged to hit the dirt in 2018!

Riders 17 and under get a reduced registration rate. Women can join women-led groups and receive bonus swag in their goodie bags from women-focused businesses.
