MCBC Members Getting Involved! Assist With Trail Work, Slow Zone Launch, Bike to Work Day & More

One of the most frequent questions we get from MCBC members is “how can I get involved?”  Whether you like to get a little dirt on your gloves, want to help by spreading the word about upcoming events or can assist by wrangling bikes at the MCBC Bike Valet, we have opportunities coming up this month to be a part of the MCBC Experience.

April 16 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
May 1 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Trail Partners to launch pilot program in April.

Working with the Marin Municipal Water District, MCBC has developed a pilot program to encourage mindful travel through high density areas and a greater awareness of one’s surroundings.

MMWD reports that a large percentage of complaints come from visitors walking or riding around Lake Lagunitas, so that’s where we’ll be rolling out the pilot program: The Slow Zone.

The Slow Zone will be voluntary, but signage and outreach will encourage riding at a less aggressive pace around the lake and to always slow down for other trail users. It will also encourage hikers and walkers to pay attention and not block the trail. Get More Information and Volunteer Here!
