MCBC 2017 Advocacy Ride Series MCBC Leads Novato Infrastructure Ride

MCBC kicked off a 2017 series of road and off-road advocacy rides in Novato last Wednesday, as Policy and Planning Director Bjorn Griepenburg led an eight-mile loop to highlight recently completed and upcoming projects, as well as identifying key steps in the development of a low-stress network of bikeways usable for people of all ages and abilities.

The ride primarily focused upon identifying potential ‘spines’ of Novato’s bicycle network: the SMART multi-use pathway along the eastern side of the freeway and through downtown to the San Marin Station, and a western route along the Enfrente Pathway, up Novato Boulevard, and to the western edge of the City via either Center Boulevard or Novato Boulevard.

Special thanks to Novato City Councilman Eric Lucan, City Engineer Petr Skala, and our terrific members for joining, as well as to Bicycle Brüstop for hosting us before and after the ride!

Look for upcoming rides in your neighborhood soon!
