Bike to Work Day, Dirt Fondo and Biketoberfest Dates Announced!
Dates are set and planning is in full swing on our MCBC 2018 Signature Events! It’s time to mark your calendars for Bike to Work Day, the MCBC Dirt Fondo and Biketoberfest Marin. Look for updates in upcoming bulletins and through the Marin County Bicycle Coalition Facebook page.
Bike to Work Day – Thursday, May 10, 2018
Bicyclists of all ages and from every corner of the county will roll out en masse to celebrate a car-free commute, experiencing the joys and benefits of bicycling to work, school, and for local errands. MCBC, working with sponsors, partners and local businesses to host multiple Energizer Stations strategically located along popular bike routes in Marin. Fuel up, socialize and grab your free Bike to Work Day musette bag filled with goodies!
This year’s challenge is simple – pledge to get someone new out on a bike on this day! Find a co-worker, neighbor or friend who likes to ride their bike and help them get to work and back (or do their errands if they work from home). It’s a great opportunity to show up and be counted as part of this car-free cycling celebration! Or join with our amazing MCBC volunteers and help cheer riders on!

MCBC Dirt Fondo – Saturday, August 18, 2018
We think the best way to honor Marin’s miles of bike legal trails is to ride them! The Dirt Fondo series lets you experience the beautiful variety of terrain in a low-key social ride atmosphere, with all the perks of tech support and planned routes.
Celebrate the long days with a long ride!
Come join 300 other riders on an all-day endurance ride from the Marin Headlands to the top of Mt. Tam and back! Our amazing team of volunteers will support you all the way and there is a gourmet post-ride BBQ at the end!

Biketoberfest – Saturday, October 13, 2018
What better way to wind down the year than a bicycle expo and brewfest!
The long-running, MCBC late-fall celebration of bikes, music, food and family fun – plus a stellar brewfest in sunny Fairfax, California! Biketoberfest has something for everyone, with 50 bicycle exhibitors showing off the latest bicycles, accessories and apparel, 20 West Coast brewers serving up 35 flavors of beer, group rides, tasty food and incredible live music.! This fun-filled event brings everyone together – including commuters, roadies, mountain bikers, BMXers, fixie devotees, cargo-carriers, e-bikers, touring aficionados and even the bike-curious!
