news Return of the Tunnel: Join the Parade!

Friends of Alto Tunnel will be showcasing the renovated, revamped and rebuilt Alto Tunnel float in this year’s Mill Valley Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 30. They have put the call out for volunteers to accompany the float and join in the fun!

FOAT needs people on bikes and foot to hold banners, hand out candy, hand out printed materials and help on the route. The tunnel float, originally made by Joe Breeze and recently upgraded, resembles a tunnel and allows cyclists to actually ride through it during the parade.

Every able volunteer is needed! Pass this word along, bring your family and friends. There’s something fun to do for all ages and we need all of the help we can get! On Monday, May 30th, volunteers will meet up with the float between 10:00 and 10:30 AM — The FOAT team members will be in line somewhere along Throckmorton — it will be hard to miss them.  Once the parade begins, riders will cycle through the float and those walking will pass out information and goodies to spectators.
