Marin Museum of Bicycling Event The Commute Crew: Mountain Bike Adventuring—Getting There Without A Car

Photo by John Shafer - Rock CanyonSpend an evening with a trio of Adventure Cyclists -Kurt Gensheimer, James Adamson and Justin Schwartz – who have taken on the challenge of finding multi-use dirt trails and riding from major cities to world-class places of recreation. Marin Museum of Bicycling will host “The Commute Crew” as they share their experiences on Wednesday, March 8.

When: Wednesday, March 8 – 7:00 to 8:30 PM (Doors open at 6:30 PM)
Where: Marin Museum of Bicycling
Tickets: Advance tickets available through Eventbrite. Or at the door.

In this talk, Kurt, James and Justin use video and photography to highlight two backcountry mountain bike rides, each a week long: A 420-mile adventure from Lake Tahoe to San Francisco, and a 421-mile trek from Salt Lake City to Moab, Utah. Both rides incorporated as much singletrack as possible. They show routes that can be ridden now, and share ideas for better access and creative solutions. They will also talk about Adventure Racing, including some highlights from their Moab event.

Their talk will inspire the adventurous soul while asking the question, “What can we do to better connect where we live with where we recreate?”

Q & A will follow, bring your curiosity and join us for a lively evening with The Commute Crew.

Tickets are $10 per adult ($5 for students and Marin Museum of Bicycling members). Tickets can be purchased in advance at the museum, online, or at the door the evening of the event. Advance purchase is recommended. Refreshments available. All proceeds benefit the Marin Museum of Bicycling.
