news Vitesse Wine Release To Benefit MCBC

vitesse-tasting-111916On Saturday, November 19th Vitesse Vineyards of Mill Valley will be releasing their 2014 Vitesse Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon through a tasting event at Equator Coffees & Teas in Larkspur. The tasting will be held from 4 – 7 PM at Equator’s beautiful new 240 Magnolia Avenue location.

The 2014 Vitesse will be available for purchase at a Friends & Family price of $39 per bottle, and a portion of the proceeds from sales at this event will directly benefit MCBC. They will also be pairing the wine with some yummy treats.

Celebrating their fourth vintage, Vitesse is the singular Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon created to give people the opportunity to experience a wine that is truly exceptional for the price. The grapes in Vitesse are the same as in other much more expensive cult Napa Valley Cabs from areas like Spring Mountain, Rutherford and Mount Veeder. But their intention from the start was to make something affordable for special occasions or to enjoy every day..

Hosting this event for the third year in a row is MCBC Sponsor Equator Coffees & Teas, coffee roaster, tea purveyor, retail operator, and coffee farm owner headquartered in San Rafael, CA. Founded in 1995 by Brooke McDonnell and Helen Russell, Equator’s commitment to a sustainable, transparent approach spans more than two decades. Equator started off 2016 as a Good Food Awards winner and they’ve been named California’s Small Business of the Year and the 2016 National Small Business of the Year by the Small Business Association.

A portion of the proceeds from sales at the event will go to the Marin County Bicycle Coalition. MCBC is committed to advocating for increased bicycle and pedestrian funding, interconnected routes, safety and skills education and policies that build a bike-friendly Marin.. They have already received many positive accolades for Vitesse, including a 92 point rating in Wine Enthusiast Magazine and a 91 point rating from Robert Parker and The Wine Advocate, who described Vitesse as having “Bordeaux-like acidity and “beautiful, pure, red, blue and black fruits, a touch of earth and sweet tannin.”
