Great perks for volunteers! Build a Connector During Hunt Camp Trail Days
Take part in a rare opportunity and be one of the few people who help build a connector trail by hand in Marin County Open Space. On this weekend-long trail event beginning Friday August 18, volunteers will help build an extension trail between Hunt Camp Trail and Manzanita Fire Road in the Gary Giacomini Open Space Preserve. You’ll meet trail volunteers from around the Bay Area while getting a chance to see a very special part of the county and learn about the unique plants and wildlife that call this place home.
A VERY SPECIAL WEEKEND!
Marin County Open Space District is very excited about the work weekend and reactivating the Trail Maintenance Team, a group of local volunteer trail builders, as they engage the community on this and other trail projects. All volunteers will receive the following:
- Optional overnight camping in an oak grove on a private ranch (with great food and libations!)
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner each day (Friday is dinner only)
- A custom Hunt Camp Trail Weekend t-shirt
- Tool and best management practices training
- Meet and socialize with trail volunteers from around the Bay Area
