Rice Drive – 2nd St. Protected Bikeway Approved

The City of San Rafael recently approved a two-way protected bikeway between Rice Drive and 2nd Street, meaning people of all ages and abilities will soon be able to enjoy a completely car-free route between Downtown San Rafael and Larkspur Ferry Terminal!

Protected Bikeway Linking to R-SR Bridge Nearing Completion

Construction of a two-way protected bikeway linking to the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge is expected to be complete by July 31! The new bikeway will link Francisco Blvd. E to Andersen Drive, giving eastbound cyclists an alternative to riding on the I-580 on-ramp and shoulder to access the bridge.

Rice to Andersen Pathway Opens

Following years of persistent advocacy and collaboration with Marin agencies, Marin County Bicycle Coalition was delighted to take part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony July 16 for the newest linkage in our North-South Greenway: a pathway from Rice Drive to Andersen Drive in San Rafael!
