Pathways Are For Everyone

One of the things that makes Marin County so special is the incredible number of off-street paths for cycling and walking. From the Mill Valley-Sausalito Pathway, to the Tiburon Linear Park, to the Corte Madera Creek Path, few places have such a great number of opportunities for safe walking and biking just outside folks’ backyards.

Marin Voters Signal Support for Transportation Funding

Marin voters continue to overwhelmingly support and ask for better, and more, transportation options. In last week’s November 6 election, over 75 percent of Marin voters supported Measure AA, Marin’s transportation sales tax extension, and opposed Proposition 6, the gas tax repeal.

After three years of tirelessly advocating for a pathway parallel to SMART’s Larkspur rail extension, we are delighted to confirm that on Wednesday, SMART Board of Directors authorized this connection to be built from Rice Drive to Andersen Drive in San Rafael.

San Rafael’s Downtown – particularly the area closest to the freeway – remains the most dangerous place to walk and bike in Marin County. MCBC continues to support the City of San Rafael as they move forward on several plans and projects with the potential to greatly improve the ease and safety with which people walk and bike.
